Tooth extraction falls within New York's definition of veterinary medicine, and you must be a licensed veterinary professional -- either a veterinarian, or a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) under the supervision of a veterinarian -- to perform it. Therefore, if you are confident that your licensed LVT is capable of performing the simple extraction, then the LVT may do so at your direction and under your general supervision.
