On the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation website, at https://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/25009.html, you'll find the information below.  Even though there is no mention of medical treatment, it's clear that the state considers any wolf/dog hybrid to be dangerous to you and your staff, your clients, and possibly your patients.

Dangerous Wildlife License
Statutory Authority: ECL 3-0301, 11-0325, 11-0511 and 6 NYCRR Part 175 and Part 180

"No person may possess, release, transport, import or export, or cause to be released, transported, imported, or exported, except under permit from the department, any of the following live wildlife:

  • The raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonides)
  • Any Wolf/Dog hybrid
  • Any animal, whose overall appearance makes it difficult, or impossible to distinguish from a wolf (Canis lupis), or a coyote (Canis latrans).

These animals present a danger to the health or welfare of the people of New York State, or its indigenous wildlife populations."

Licenses for wolf/dog hybrids are issued for scientific purposes only.
